A YORKSHIRE based housebuilder has launched a Community Outreach Project to help groups, clubs, charities, sports teams or facilities as they begin to re-open. The Miller Homes initiative will see £1,000 up for grabs to help community-based clubs and groups get back on their feet, whether it is to help with equipment for sports clubs, or community groups such as scouts, or hobby and activity groups. Regional sales manager Sarah Whinfrey said:“These groups are such an important part of our communities and we really want to pledge our support by offering one organisation our community fund for 2021. These community groups help people to stay fit, socialise and form friendships that may last a lifetime, reinforcing just how important community groups are, and how much we have all missed them over the last 18 months.” ....
A HOUSEBUILDER has pledged its support to a Bradford district primary school as part of a scheme to encourage less screen time when students return to the classroom. Miller Homes has donated money to Greengates Primary Academy, close to its Brompton Fold development, to mark World Book Day on March 4. The money is to help support a return to more traditional ways of learning rather than the necessary digital learning which has formed much of their education for the best part of a year. Sarah Whinfrey, Miller Homes Yorkshire regional sales manager, said: “Books are such an important part of the learning process and we recognise that some children may not have had access to books whilst they have been home schooling. ....
A ‘SPECIAL moment in our history’ has been captured at Bramhope. Miller Homes had invited residents to donate all kinds of items including photographs, artwork, memorabilia and letters to include in a time capsule. The community responded enthusiastically with everyone from the local churches to Bramhope Primary School sending in contributions. Now the capsule has been buried in a public open space at the entrance to Miller Homes’ 321-property Spring Wood Park development.
