It s not often that we get to see crosstown rivalries happen in a regional final, but that s exactly what happened at the 3A East Regional Final in Greenville. D.H. Conley welcomed its fiercest rival J.H. Rose to determine which Greenville school would get to move on to the 3A title game. As it did in the first two matchups, D.H. Conley defeated the Rose. Conley volleyball team is going back to the 3A Eastern Regional Final. And this time, the Vikings are going to have to defeat archrival J.H. Rose in order to make the state title game. The Vikings advanced to that matchup with a win over a very good Chapel Hill team in four sets on Saturday. Chapel Hill, which entered this afternoon s matchup with a 14-2 record, defeated Conley in the regional final last season in five sets. In the year before last season, Conley defeated Chapel Hill in the regional round. While today s matchup was in the round before regionals, it had the look and feel of a final four matchup. ....
