Infusing jazz, rock and Afro-Dominican folk, the guitarist and his band featured three original songs from their album Kijombo for their Tiny Desk Meets SXSW showcase. Its name embodies the spirit of quijombo – once underground African folkloric gatherings with palo drumming – from Tejeda s native Dominican Republic.
