[ inaudible ] 6:01 on this tuesday. a cold morning where you don t want to move. we thank you for joining us i m kristen sze. i m eric thomas. you gotta move to keep warm it is bone-chilling out there and still sinking. bay area temperatures dipping into record territory bringing extreme danger to a lot of people. amy hollyfield is live in at a shelter. reporter: the unusual thing is, it is still full this morning. they usually clear people out at five in the morning, they didn t have the heart to do that today. it is so cold they are going x 8 a.m.. they have 140 spots, all were taken last night. it is a safety and comfort issue. it is freezing all around the bay area in the 20s and 30s all across the bay. some of the regulars here at the shelter say,thó even when it this cold not everyone comes inside. i know some people they are just going to stay in the park, because they don t feel comfortable. some people have been robbed. it is a hard place to be in. i ....

internet. that s freakish. right near where i hang out. reporter: downtown mountain view is where a lot of people hang out. today there was an incident inside a book store. one of the employee ran to me and said there s great trouble down there. reporter: this woman is one of the owners of book buyer book store on castro street and didn t see the actual encounter but was there when it happened. some other woman came up to the lead s little girl and then the girl started run to go her mother saying that lead bit me. she had a big welt on her or something on her cheek. read. reporter: that wasn t all. while the mother was tend to go her daughter in the store children section. suddenly the little boy just a couple months old started screaming and they went to him and his cheek was bleeding. reporter: the woman ran out of the store but was later found by police at this nearby starbucks. thanks to witness who was able to give a good description. this is 46-year-o ....
