Bittersweet sale of waterfront restaurant The Store Kēkerengū an 'exciting opportunity'

Scott Hammond/Stuff The Store is quiet in the months after the Kaikōura earthquake, pictured in 2017, but has bounced back well. Macfarlane and his partner took over in 2014, refurbishing the interior into a more modern type of rustic, with vaulted wooden ceilings, a double-sided fireplace and long seafront deck. The Store was now a fully licenced waterfront restaurant and functions venue, on State Highway 1, one of the country’s busiest tourist routes. Colliers sales director Andy Poswillo said the 10 hectare property included a campground with bathroom and toilet block, a two-bedroom apartment for the owner or staff and a separate office.
