GREATER NOIDA: Seven people, among them the administrator of a hospital authorised to carry out Phase III trials of Zydus Cadila’s Covid-19 vaccine ZyCoV-D, have been booked after an unregistered laboratory the hospital had tied up with was found to be administering the shots to ‘volunteers’.
Police said the FIR was filed under IPC section 420 (cheating) and provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act and Drugs and Cosmetics Act. A day after the laboratory in Dadri – Gopal Pathology – was sealed, teams from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) and the drug department in Ghaziabad began an investigation into alleged violation of rules stipulated for vaccine trials. Officials said the shots had been given to at least 19 people. ....
