Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti was on Friday summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case.
According to the ED notice, Ms. Mufti is directed “to appear before the ED on March 15 at 11.30 a.m.”
Ms. Mufti has been called by the ED in a case filed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. ....

Srinagar: A court in the Kashmir valley has granted bail to Hilal Akbar Lone, the son of National Conference member of parliament Muhammad Akbar Lone, who had been booked on January 9 under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, (UAPA), for making a speech during the District Development Council polls.
The court observed during the hearing that âsuch spoken words wouldnât prima facie lead to commission of offence of unlawful activityâ and held that âthere is not any allegation that Hilal Akbar Lone has called for the secession of the territory of the state (sic) from the Union of India, nor were his words intending to cause disaffection against the countryâ. ....

Kanpur : , March 2 (IANS) The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has arrested six persons on charges of providing shelter and financial aid to slain gangster Vikas Dubey and his aides.
They have also been charged with disposing of a semi-automatic weapon from his native Bikru village where Dubey and his men had killed eight policemen, including a DSP, on July 3 last year.
The arrests were made in Kanpur on Monday.
Inspector General STF Amitabh Yash said that a resident of Bhind in Madhya Pradesh, who had purchased a semi-automatic 30 Springfield American rifle from the gang, has also been arrested. ....
