Springfield, Ill.- An Illinois state appellate court on Thursday dismissed Governor Pritzker's appeal of a court order blocking the enforcement of mask mandates. TV Station KHQA reports that the justices ruled late Thursday that the appeal is irrelevant because the emergency rules voided by a temporary order are "no longer in effect, a controversy regarding the application of those rules no longer exists. Thus, the matter is moot." On February 4th, a Sangamon County Circuit Judge filed a temporary restraining order to block the enforcement of the state mask mandate in schools.
