BEIJING – Lisa DeJong of Biggar, Sask. made history Monday as she became the first Canadian to win a medal in Para snowboarding at the Paralympic Winter Games.
DeJong was also second in her quarterfinal and semifinal before following winner Cecile Hernandez of France to the finish line. Brenna Huckaby of the U.S. was third. Sandrine Hamel of Saint-Sauveur, Que. was fourth in the small final for eighth overall.
