We got talking yesterday morning, and we were reminiscing about our pasts a bit, and the question came up. If you could choose any age to stay for the rest of your life, past or present, what would you choose?
JStew: Questions like this are always kinda tough. Mostly because, my question is always the same. Do I get to go back to that age armed with the life experience I have now, or do I have to just unknowingly re-live that time period? Because hindsight and nostalgia always put a spin on everything. Anyway. I digress. So, my mid-twenties were a great time that I would gladly re-live and stay there. Or the year I got married, in my early 30 s. On the other hand, if I could stay the age I am right now, I d have my lovely bride and my dog. With just those two things, I have everything I could ever want. ....

Throwback Thursday: Is There Any Day In Your Life You'd Re-Live?

For today s Throwback Thursday, we wondered if there was a day in your life you d happily go back in time and do all over again if you could?
JStew: It s a toss up for me. There are so many. If I narrowed it down to a few, it d go something like this, in no particular order. Christmas Eve 1986 when I got my first drumset. Every moment of that day is pretty much frozen into my mind. My first real, big gig. My high school cover band got to open for Glass Tiger (Remember those guys? Me neither, haha) in Canada. There were about 5000 people there, and it was an absolute blast. I played much bigger shows after that, but that was my first taste of being a rock star, not that I ever really was one. I d love to re-live my last day with my grandfather. Nothing special about it, it was just the last one. My wedding day would be another one. KStew still puts up with me after 15 years. And I d love to go back to my last day with my dad too. He was very ill, but he and I sat telling jokes ....

JStew: Boy oh boy. I still have most of the parts from my first drum kit when I was 12. I d been taking lessons before that, but for Christmas in 6th grade, Mom must ve figured, for better or worse, this drumming thing wasn t going anywhere. But my first kit also belonged to my childhood drumming mentor, Warren Bishop. Sadly, I ve lost some of the kit here and there, but I have some parts that are still functional, and those that aren t have slowly been repurposed into furniture or decorations. Those make me happy too. I can t play them, but I can still look at them and have fond memories. ....
