BANGUED, Abra – The whole Pilar town of this province has been placed under Commission on Election (Comelec) control as 30 personnel of the Pilar Municipal Police Station have been relieved in connection with the shooting incident on March 29 between the Vice Mayor and the police.

In a statement on Thursday, PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos said complaints for violation of the Expanded Trafficking in Persons Act were filed against Disono and her brother, Pilar town Mayor Mark Somera. Meanwhile, facing charges of serious disobedience to an agent or person in authority are Robert Toreno and Emmanuel Valera, both employees of the Pilar municipal government and Disono's helper Jericho Bufil. Bufil was also charged with attempted murder. "The cases filed are the product of the evidence and testimonies that our police investigators were able to gather. In a press briefing in Camp Crame, PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo said police forces have cordoned the house of Disono to identify the men inside the van that sought refuge at her residence after the gunfight. The vice mayor refused to come out after her house was surrounded by the police.
