Immigration advocates and even within the senate as kristen was just talking about. it s going to be really tough for this to get through the senate. how do you see it playing out? at this point the trumt p administration is trying to get in anything they can in terms of making these bills pass. they want this when they want to be able to show that trump is carrying out his agenda to crack down on law and order issues ans is not just about kicking people out not from the country but those who come in illegally. one thing the acting director kept emphasizing, you don t thirveg the law enforcements have heart? they have heart. that was something they were trying to push through, it s not personal towards these people and it s about the law. the other point though undocumented immigrants living in this country illegally should feel uncomfortable is what he said. he wouldn t go so far as to being put on notice right now ....

Immigration. today, lawmakers are voting on two bills that would basically bolster the federal government s role in all of it. kristen welker is over in the white house. this is something that the president said he is going to do on day one. here we are. talk about what these bills will do and how big of a priority this is for the white house when it comes to, for example, kate s law and sanctuary cities. this is one of the president s key priorities, hallie, no doubt about that. this is something he campaigned on, getting tougher on those who are here and who are undocumented. first to kate s law. this would put tougher penalties on those who re-enter the country illegally. it would also call for stiffer penalties on those who are here who are undocumented, who commit crimes. and then that sanctuary cities law would give the federal government more latitude to effectively punishment states and cities that don t comply with the federal government s rules when it comes to immigration ....
