I imagine that during the design process for the San Francisco Giants’ “City Connect” jerseys, the conversation at Nike headquarters went something like this:
Nike exec: “Okay, we need to come up with a new Giants jersey. What’s something that people associate with San Francisco?”
Nike marketing guy: “Uhhh… fog?”
Exec: “Perfect! Fog. Now we need a new logo for the jersey.”
Marketing guy: “How about the letter G? It stands for Giants.” ....

철새 200여 종이 찾는 대규모 하구
모로베이의 자랑거리는 풍부한 수자원과 생태 다양성이다. 로스 오소스 크릭(Los Osos Creek)과 초로(Chorro)에서 흘러나오는 강물과 지하수, 빗물이 바다와 만나 2300에이커 규모의 하구가 형성해 있다. 캘리포니아주는 이곳을 모로베이 주 해양 보호지역(Morro Bay State Marine Reserve)로 지정하고 있다.
수초인 장어풀이 일대를 뒤덮고 있으며 철새가 매년 먹이활동을 하기 위해 방문한다. 가을과 겨울에는 알래스카에서 날아온 철새 수천 마리가 이곳을 찾는다. 물떼새류인 마불드 갓위트(marbled godwit)와 도요새류인 윌렛(willet), 마도요(curlew) 등 종류만 200여 종이다. 조류 보호단체인 더내셔널오두본소사이어티(The National Audubon Society)는 이 지역을 세계에서 가장 중요한 조류 서식지 중 하나로 꼽� ....
