During Memorial Day weekend in 2020, not only were the boardwalk and parking lots closed at area beaches, but you couldn t sit on the sand. Now, none of those rules apply. So, for lifeguards and police, that means all hands are on deck. “We re gonna have hundreds of thousands of people down here so we ll be focusing our efforts on those creating problems,” said San Diego Police Captain Scott Wahl.

We ve gone down pretty much every day in Pacific Beach and had to ask people to leave our premises, he said.  Eric owns several businesses in the area, as well as downtown.
