It s also a show about professional wrestling not only because Johnson first became a celebrity in the wrestling ring as the Rock, but because his family had roots in the wrestling industry before he was even born. Many of the characters who surround Johnson in Young Rock are wrestlers popular (and notorious) stars from the 1980s like the Junkyard Dog, the Iron Sheik, and Andre the Giant appear in the show, as does Johnson s pro wrestler father, Rocky Johnson.
