By Cort Reynolds KENTON - The visiting Bluffton girls basketball team dominated the middle quarters and rallied to defeat Kenton 56-47 in a non-league battle Monday night. The Lady Pirates trailed 19-13 after one period of play as the Wildcat girls drained three trifectas. But Bluffton came back with a 15-8 second quarter to grab a 28-27 edge at halftime. The victors extended the margin to nine points heading to the final stanza with a 13-5 third period. Bluffton limited Kenton to just one field goal in the third stanza. The Pirate defense held the Wildcats to five total baskets in the second and third periods to outscore them, 28-13. ....
By Cort Reynolds ARCADIA - The visiting Bluffton girls basketball team earned a big early lead and went on to whip Arcadia soundly 59-39 in a non-league contest Saturday afternoon. The Lady Pirates raced to a 21-9 edge after one period of play as Sami Scoles scored seven points and Riley Eachus buried two three-point goals. The Pirate girls extended the lead to 36-21 at intermission as Eachus drained two more triples and Kylie Stackhouse netted five second quarter points. Bluffton put the game away with a 16-7 third period that extended the cushion to 52-28. Kylie Monday canned three baskets in the third stanza. ....
By Cort Reynolds BLUFFTON - The host Bluffton girls basketball team raced to a big early lead and convincingly defeated North Baltimore 50-33 in non-conference action Tuesday night. The Lady Pirates jumped to a 20-6 first period lead and held a 30-18 cushion at intermission. They extended the margin to 39-22 after three periods and cruised to the victory. Bluffton improved its record to 4-3 overall with the win. The Tiger girls dropped to 3-2 with the defeat. Sami Scoles led the victors with 13 points. Junior post Kylie Stackhouse tallied 11 points. Laykin Garmatter and Kylie Monday each contributed seven points. ....

The Lady Bulldogs trailed just 10-7 after the first period. But then the Lady Pirates blew it open with a 23-8 second stanza as seven players scored. Bluffton then extended its lead to 31 points at 53-22 with a 20-7 third quarter. Four Pirate girls scored in double figures, and 10 Bluffton players hit the scoring column in all. The purple and gold dropped to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the NWC with the defeat. Bluffton evened its record at 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the NWC with the win. ....
