Truck driver runs over student at Mankessim Listen to article A 17-years-old student named Dorothy Mensah has been crashed to death by a truck. Five of her colleagues sustained various degrees of injuries after the truck hit them while crossing the road at Mankessim in the Central Region. The truck was loaded with bags of cement. According to information gathered by DGN Online, the deceased Dorothy Mensah and her colleagues are student of the Aisha Islamic Basic school who were crossing the road from school when the speeding vehicle hit and ran over Dorothy causing her instant death. According to an eyewitness report, the five injured students are on admission at the Mankessim Roman Hospital where they are receiving treatment. ....
A Circuit Court in Accra, hearing the robbery case of the murdered Mfantsiman MP, has adjourned the matter to February 8, awaiting three reports from the Ghana Police Service. The reports include Ballistic examination, fingerprints of the accused persons and analysis of phone calls of the accused persons. When sitting resumed today, Monday, January 18, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Fuseini Yakubu, told the Court that the police was waiting for the three reports. According to ASP Yakubu, the three reports would determine the Police next line of action. The prosecution announced that the Police had been served with a notice of Alibi filed on behalf of Alhassan Abubakar, but the said Alibi did not indicate the contacts, house numbers and names of the witnesses. ....

The Prosecution led by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Fuseine Yakubu said the results of the forensic analysis would determine the Prosecution s next line of action. ASP Yakubu therefore prayed the court for an adjournment pending the outcome of the results of the forensic analysis. Defence counsel repeated their application for bail for the accused persons but the court presided over by Mrs Evelyn Asamoah turned it down. ....
