Schools, businesses close due to winter storm coming through WBTV viewing area

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - School districts and businesses in the WBTV viewing area are reporting closings due to a winter storm expected to hit the area Friday.
Among those reporting closings, delays and cancellations include:
Alexander County Schools - Remote Learning Day Friday
Alexander County Schools will operate with a remote instructional day tomorrow due to forecast weather conditions. Students and staff will not report to the school buildings but will work remotely from home.
