SALINEVILLE Village Mayor Linda Adams reminded those in the area that the Salineville Community Health Center at Melhorn on West Main Street will be one of the places the COVID-19 Moderna vaccinations are available starting today.
She encouraged anyone from the community age 80 and older interested in getting the vaccine to call 330-679-2640 to make an appointment.
Although the vaccinations are starting with 80 and older, Adams even suggested those in younger age groups consider calling to get put on a list for when the vaccines are available for that age group. Additionally, Adams said when a vial of vaccine is opened, there is enough inside to vaccinate 10 people. If only eight people in the current age group use from the final vial, those administering the vaccine may call those nearby in another age group to find people to give the last two doses. Once a vial is opened the entire contents must be used within six hours or it is no longer viable.
