A man suffering from mental illness allegedly murdered his 15-year-old daughter and then killed himself in Salem district of Tamil Nadu.

Salem gets 102 CCTV cameras | Coimbatore News

SALEM: City police commissioner T Senthil Kumar inaugurated 102 CCTV cameras in Suramangalam area here on Saturday. With this, the total number of CCTV cameras in the city has gone up to 17,000.
Pointing out that there were already 2,100 CCTV cameras in Suramangalam area, Kumar said the number has now increased by 102. He said they were able to solve nearly 40 cases with the support of CCTV footage. “Two of them were murder cases. We are able to keep an eye on every location round-the-clock with the help of CCTV cameras. Because of this, the crime rate too has come down.” ....
