ECI to train University of Sharjah students in business leadership
SHARJAH, February 11, 2021 The University of Sharjah (UoS) has signed an agreement with Etihad Credit Insurance (ECI), to undertake initiatives aimed at training and educating the students to become competent leaders and professionals in the industry. Under this partnership, ECI will provide internship programmes for UoS students as a prerequisite for graduation, as well as participate in the university events as guest speakers particularly in beneficial topics related to management, leadership, nationalisation, and work etiquettes. UoS, on the other hand, will support ECI in identifying and selecting suitable students in required and relevant graduate programmes and majors to be hired at ECI for a suitable role. It will also form an Industry Advisory Committee to look at and develop potential training programmes related to the core business of ECI.
Sharjah Gulf Excellence Award withheld due to travel restrictions
SHARJAH, February 9, 2021 The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Sharjah Excellence Award (SEA) has decided to withhold the Sharjah Gulf Excellence Award for this year due to travel restrictions. The decision came at a meeting to review the developments of the award s work plan in its 2020-2021 edition in light of the amendments made recently to keep pace with the spread of Covid-19, a WAM release said. The meeting was held virtually and chaired by Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sharjah Excellence Award (SEC).
