KL police seize ganja worth over half a million ringgit, two traffickers arrested in raids

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have seized over 200kg of ganja and arrested two people following a tip-off, says Comm Datuk Saiful Azly Kamaruddin.
The Kuala Lumpur police chief said the first seizure was made after the arrest of a 49-year-old man in Kampung Batu Muda at about 5.40pm on Monday (Jan 4).
Comm Saiful Azly said the police then checked two cars parked by the roadside and seized 14.4kg of ganja and RM1,070 in cash.
“The investigation led police to another vehicle hidden in some bushes nearby, where 187.4kg of ganja was found, he told a press conference at the city police headquarters on Friday (Jan 8). ....

KANGAR – The people were reminded today to always be cautious when dealing with strangers so that they don’t end up being victims of online scammers.
Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail advised the public to always check or confirm with the relevant parties such as banks and police before sharing their personal information with strangers.

“Never let others use your bank accounts and check before buying items (online).
“Members of public who fall victim (to scammers) must not to delete proof of communication with these criminals such as emails, short message service (SMS), WhatsApp messages, telephone call log and so on to facilitate police investigation,” he said in a statement issued by the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) today. ....

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 Eight Chinese nationals linked to an online scam operating at a leading hotel here have been declared persona non grata, said Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Saiful Azly Kamaruddin.
They are the first group of foreigners involved in online scam cases to be declared as such.
Saiful Azly said the eight criminals were declared persona non grata on Dec 8 after they were convicted on November 4. ....

LUMPUR: Those who rent out their premises for private wild parties can have action taken against them, police warned today.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Commissioner Datuk Saiful Azly Kamaruddin said such premises include condominiums, service apartments and hotel rooms that are leased to organisers of private wild parties which are often associated with illegal activities such as drug abuse .
“If we receive information on such parties and when we raid the place, action can be taken against the owners of the premises under Section 13a of the Dangerous Drugs Act which carries a penalty of up to five years imprisonment and a RM10,000 fine,“ he said. ....
