Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], May 2 (ANI): Congress is leading on Sahara and Sujangarh constituencies according to the early trends, as the counting for the by-elections in the three constituencies of Rajasthan is underway.

Polling begins for three assembly seats in Rajasthan.
The polling in three assembly constituencies of Rajasthan began at 7:00 am today amid tight security arrangements. The polling will decide the fate of 27 candidates in Sahara (Bhilwara), Sujangarh (Churu) and Rajsamand constituencies where a total of 7,43,802 voters will be able to exercise their franchise at 1,145 polling booths.
The polling will continue till 6:00 pm today. Counting will be held on May 2. The polling began in the morning. All the measures as per the COVID-19 related guidelines are being followed in the polling, a spokesperson said.
The by-polls are being held after the demise of sitting MLAs Master Bhanwar Lal Meghwal (Sujangarh), Kailash Trivedi (Sahara) and Kiran Maheshwari (Rajsamand).

Voting for the bypolls in two parliamentary in Andhra Pradesh (Tirupati) and Karnataka (Belgaum), and 14 Assembly constituencies spread across Karnataka, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Rajasthan, Telangana and Uttarakhand is underway on April 17.

A total of 44.89 voter turnout was registered at 3 pm. Sahara (Bhilwara) registered 44.16 per cent, Rajsamand recorded 47.58 per cent and Sujangarh (Churu) recorded a voter turnout of 43.37 per cent, according to an official spokesperson.

A total of 60.71% of the 7.43 lakh voters cast their votes in the byelections to the Sujangarh (Churu), Sahara (Bhilwara) and Rajsamand Assembly constituencies in Rajasthan on Saturday.
The highest polling was recorded at 67.18% in Rajsamand, followed by 59.76% in Sujangarh and 56.56% in Sahara
The bypolls will decide the fate of 27 candidates. The votes were cast at 1,145 booths amid strict security measures, while all norms under the COVID-19 related guidelines were complied with.
