SHARE Hospitals in Oman are turning away Covid-19 patients citing a lack of bed space as cases spike, patients and officials told The National. “The beds in both government and private hospitals are 99 per cent full,” a Ministry of Health spokesman said. “Covid-19 patients are only kept for a few hours in the emergency wings and sent home the same day. We are keeping those who are very critical overnight and even in this category we are struggling because the intensive care units are fully loaded.” He said most of the 366 intensive care beds in the government’s hospitals and the 76 intensive care beds in private hospitals were occupied. ....
By: Times News Service Muscat: More than 10 people have been injured in North Al Batinah Governorate due to damages caused by rains, the Director of Saham Hospital said on Wednesday. A statement issued online by Oman News Agency ( ONA ), said:”Hammoud bin Saeed A Fazari, Director of Saham Hospital, said that these damages resulted in the injury of 13 people, 7 of whom were transferred to Sohar Hospital due to fractures, while the necessary treatment and medical care was provided to the rest of the injured in Saham Hospital.” A number of wilayats and governorates of the Sultanate witnessed torrential rains, hail falling, rising sea waves on the coastal areas of the Sea of Oman, and active winds that led to the blowing of unstable objects and caused many damages to the private property of citizens. ....
Heavy rains lash parts pf Oman, flooding damages reported By: Times News Service Muscat: Rains lashed parts of Oman late on Tuesday night and in the early hours of Wednesday, causing flooding and significant damage to property in several areas of the country. Dozens of trees were uprooted as a consequence of the wind and rain. Many struck people’s homes and vehicles, damaging them in the process, sometimes extensively. Some of the trees also fell over livestock that could not get out of the way fast enough. So intense was the weather that it also caused the roofs of some buildings, constructed from tin, steel, and other metals, to come loose, further damaging billboards, shops and homes. Winds blowing at a furious speed also tore out sections of walls, which caused plenty of damage to the vehicles on which they landed. ....
