Coronavirus cases among school staff members have become almost nonexistent thanks to the wide availability of vaccines for adults. But students especially those in high school are still reporting illness in Tampa Bay area schools.
The map above records all cases reported by area school districts. Below is a county-by-county breakdown of schools with four cases or more this past week.

Reports of coronavirus cases in Tampa Bay area schools continue to level downward as the school year progresses.
To date, there have been more than 10,000 cases in Hillsborough, Hernando, Pasco and Pinellas counties. But each week there seems to be a slight improvement.

Rosemary Caldwell Collins, a 51-year-old music teacher at Clearwater High School, is being remembered for her vocal talents and leadership skills as colleagues react to her death after what was described in social media posts as a sudden bout with COVID-19.
Many are expressing shock that the active and seemingly healthy educator entered a hospital this week and was gone so quickly. ....
