hello, everybody. i am randi kaye. we re glad you are with us. we start off with the victims of irene. for those of you who think irene was a dud, well, tell that to the families of the 21 people who died in that storm and the people that lost their homes and the estimated $10 billion price tag is nothing to sneeze at either. irene may not have been as bad as expected in some areas, but worst in others. vermont, much of the state is under water. a short time ago president obama declared a state of emergency making vermont elvauable for disaster relieve. it will take time to recover from the storm of this magnitude. the affects are being felt across much of the country. in new england and states like vermont where there has been an enormous amount of flooding. the responses continues and i want to make sure fema and other agencies are doing everything they can to help people on the ground. check out the video of vermont. it shows the power of irene destroying one of the st
i m wolf blitzer. we are watching breaking news, history unfolding in libya. we are following breaking news. we will be in the hours ahead as developments continue. it is early monday morning there in libya. moammar gadhafi is under siege from rebel forces. the rebels say they have two of moammar gadhafi s sons captured. we have pictures of saif. the international criminal court at the hague has an arrest warrant for him. now we are told in the heart of tripoli s green square which they have renamed martyr s square. we heard moments ago that some of them are pushing back with word that gadhafi forces may be going to reenter that part of the city. the government has been saying 1,300 people have been killed over the past 12 hours. our people on the ground have seen no evidence of that though. one of our reporters with the rebels say there are no signs of pro government forces on the streets of tripoli at the moment. our colleague matthew chance is holed up in a hotel in

she was dragged off. since then we ve spoken to her several times, heard her speaking through tears about her ordeal, the kidnap, the rape, the torture. this weekend we talked to eman as she told us one of colonel gadhafi s sons, sani gadhafi, told her that she s going to be allowed to leave tripoli and go back to her family in the east. we contacted sadi s office and they ve confirmed to us that they ve agreed to help eman leave tripoli. it all sounded like great news for her. after all, she s been repeatedly harassed by libyan state tv and on the streets of tripoli. but so far eman has not left tripoli. i talked to her earlier today. she s terrified to go outside, terrified also that the world will forget her. i spoke with her earlier. you spoke to sadi gadhafi. what did he say about the possibility of leaving tripoli and going back to your home? did he tell you if he s spoken to his father or his brother saif about your case?
