MARYSTOWN, N.L. The mayor of a small town in Newfoundland says his community is coming together to battle an outbreak of COVID-19 that had resulted in 39 confirmed cases as of Saturday night, with more expected to be confirmed Sunday.
In-class instruction at Donald C. Jamieson Academy in Burin Bay Arm will be suspended as of Monday, the same day Sacred Heart Academy shifts to online learning because of a COVID-19 cluster connected to the school.
Newfoundland and Labrador is reporting 30 new cases of COVID-19, all but three of them in the province's Eastern Health region, where there is a growing cluster in the Marystown area.
