Our Correspondent Kohima, June 25 (EMN): Smart city projects and plans must ensure that every individual has access to clean drinking water, said KD Vizo, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, on Saturday even as he suggested the possibility of harvesting rainwater to address water shortage. ‘Water is a precious resource and therefore sustainable method of harvesting rainwater needs to be explored so that supply remains consistent throughout the year,’ said Vizo, who is also a member of Board of Directors, Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL). He was speaking on the occasion of Smart City Mission 7th anniversary on the theme, ‘Sabka Bharat, Nikharta Bharat’, at Capital Cultural Hall in Kohima. “Today in Nagaland, it needs to start from the basics, such as ensuring cleanliness in the city and making efforts to clean the city. Waste segregation measures need to be taken up and their importance should be communicated to the public as it will ease the recycling measures ....
Our Correspondent Kohima, June 25 (EMN): A total of 17 out of 35 projects implemented by the Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL) under the ‘Smart City Mission’ have been completed so far. Some of the completed projects are: Kohima Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC), Capital Cultural Hall, beautification works, community building at New Market, pedestrian-friendly footpath, procurement of mobility hotspot etc. This was informed by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KSCDL, Kezha Theunuo while highlighting the status of Kohima Smart City projects on the occasion of the 7th anniversary celebration of the mission on the theme ‘Sabka Bharat, Nikharta Bharat’ held at Capital Cultural Hall in Kohima on Saturday. Some of the ongoing projects include a multi-level parking at Old Medical Directorate, PR Hill and Nagaland State Transport bus station, a walkable street and cycle track, which is expected to be completed within two to three months, he added.
