Russia claims the occupation of the village of Tabaivka in Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv Oblast in order to present this “victory” to the public ahead of the presidential elections, Armed Forces spokesman Volodymyr Fitio said on national television on Jan. 30.
The recent escalation near the village of Tabaivka, Kharkiv Oblast, is part of the Russian strategy to bypass Kupyansk from the south. The enemy is withdrawing some troops from the Lyman sector in order to concentrate its forces and achieve at least some success, military expert Serhiy Hrabskyitold Radio NV on Jan. 29
Ukrainian forces struck a strategic air defense facility on the western coast of Russian-occupied Crimea overnight on Oct. 30, the Ukrainian military's Center for Strategic Communications reported.
Russian forces launched localized attacks on Avdiivka in the early hours of Oct. 10, following intensive artillery preparations. Geolocated footage from Oct. 10 and 11 confirms Russian troop advancements southwest and northwest of Avdiivka in Donetsk Oblast, according to the Institute for the Study of War.
