Nationwide shareholder company claims 5-year permit ‘ridiculous’
HONIARA, Solomon Islands (Solomon Star, June 26, 2012) – The Nationwide company Director serving on the Russell Islands Plantation Estates Limited (RIPEL) board, David Tuhanuku, is calling on the Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry to immediately revoke RIPEL chairman Patrick Wong’s 5-year Residence Permit and ordered him out of Solomon Islands.
I find it totally ridiculous that Patrick Wong should have been given a five (5) years residence permit which is unusual given the fact that residence permits in Solomon Islands are normally for a period of two (2) years. What is more perplexing about Wong’s case is the fact that he does not do any work in Solomon Islands. ....
