Harvard University public health student Rushabh Doshi made the warning on KevinMD - a platform founded by Dr Kevin Pho for medical professionals to share their insight. While the various vaccines against Covid-19 and its variants do prevent most from developing serious symptoms and dying, the main products may not prevent the virus continuing to spread. The Covid-19 vaccinations prevent disease, but we know little about if it prevents reinfection and further viral transmission, Mr Doshi wrote. ....

Writing on KevinMD, a platform founded by Dr Kevin Pho, Doshi noted that it was still unclear whether vaccinated people could still spread the virus. With a slower than expected vaccination rollout to the general public, people who are vaccinated and fail to understand that they can still be carriers of the virus pose an immediate threat to the unvaccinated, Doshi wrote last week. ....

Shipments of desktops, notebooks and workstations reached a record 90.3 million units during the period, the report noted. PC shipments jumped for the third consecutive quarter during the year, with the fourth quarter showing a 13 percent increase over the previous quarter. For the entire year, Canalys reported, PC shipments grew 11 percent, the highest full-year growth since 2010, and reached 297 million units, the highest shipment volume since 2014. The report revealed that much of the market growth during the year was driven by notebooks and mobile workstation shipments, which increased 44 percent over 2019, reaching 235.1 million. ....

This is represents the third sequential quarter of sales growth since the coronavirus outbreak disrupted supply chains in the Far East, causing severe parts shortages at the start of last year. “The industry deserves all the success that has come its way,” said a cheerleading Rushabh Doshi, Canalys research director. “We would be in a very different position had it not been for the commitment of the PC industry, including the vendors, the supply chain and the distribution channel.” ....
