RANDOLPH COUNTY — Members of the Randolph County Board of Commissioners feel they are unfairly being kept largely in the dark about operations of Randolph Health.

During Orth’s tenure, she navigated the health system through a bankruptcy, financial performance improvements which led to profitability and through the sale of the system to American Health Systems, LLC.
In a statement, Orth said she appreciated American Healthcare Systems’ offer for her to stay, but she decided against it.
“When I accepted the role as CEO of Randolph Health three years ago, my number one priority was to secure local access to health care. While the journey has taken longer than expected, Randolph Health has successfully emerged with a new operator that has a plan to advance and grow health care in our region. I have the utmost gratitude to the Board of Directors, staff, physicians, volunteers and this community for trusting me to lead this organization.”
