Wilmington businesses taking notice of Holly Ridge industrial park


Holly Ridge Mayor Jeff Wenzel knows a lot about the historical growth of the town s Camp Davis area and its impact on the community.
Right out World War II, the town’s population ballooned from less than 30 people to 110,000 when the military installation was built. For about a decade, the population stayed at that level until the camp shut down, bursting the population down to hundreds.
Now, with the ongoing progress of the Camp Davis Industrial Park and completion of the first part, Wenzel is ready for a modern wave of growth.
“Camp Davis has had a boom once before and right now, I think we’re on the brink of a second boom,” said Wenzel about the Onslow County town, which has seen its population double in the last 10 years to better than 2,000. ....
