Remember back in March when New York City freed nearly 1,000 prisoners in order to prevent COVID-19 from being spread around the prison population? It wasn’t just New York City: Los Angeles, Houston, ICE, and more were announcing that they were letting people go rather than risk them spreading the virus while incarcerated.
A similar problem faces rehabilitation facilities, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo the man who literally wrote the book on how to handle the COVID-19 pandemic said Monday. “These are congregate facilities. Congregate facilities are problematic. That’s where you have a lot of people in concentration.”
yeah, i think in addition to looking at sort of who knew what when when it came to one person, larry nassar, i think we also need to look at the bigger issue of sexual abuse in club and olympic sports and seeing why didn t the usoc knack the same kind of child protection. whether it s boy scouts or girl scouts or ymca or police, athletically, they all recognize that sexual abuse is a risk when you have these adults in a hierarchy power type situation, and and in the uoc did not mandate to all of their clubs and all of their members. we are talking 8 million children here. this is not a small number. so let me ask you do you believe congress needs to intervene here? should they make the olympic committee take responsibility here and fix the system? actually, sarah feinstein has
