A celebration of all things rhubarb attracted residents from Pierce County and points beyond to the Prairie Village Museum Sunday, June 20. The museum’s annual Rhubarb Fest featured goodies from rhubarb mini cheesecakes to rhubarb ice cream and rhubarb wine, all served in sample plates of six for five dollars. “We’ve had quite a few people today,” Museum Director Jennifer Willis said. “We even had to get more food – more burgers and hot dogs. Art celebrating North Dakota’s Native American culture will be on display to welcome visitors to the Prairie Village Museum’s opening day May 1 at 9 a.m. Photographs created by North Dakota artist Shane Balkowitsch using a traditional wet collodion process will hang on the walls of the museum’s gallery. The process dates back to the mid-1800s and was used by photographers such as Matthew Brady, who brought it to Civil War battlefields. ....

The boards will be sold with an assortment of meats and cheeses at the museum’s Masked Ball fundraiser March 5 from 5-8 p.m. Prairie Village Museum will offer a selection of meats, cheeses and more arranged on custom charcuterie boards at a fundraiser in the Dakota Farms yellow banquet room Friday, March 5, from 5-8 p.m. The event, titled “The Masked Ball,” will feature live-streamed music and an opportunity for diners to use their artistic skills and win prizes as well. ....
