Courtesy of Westborough Lions Club The Westborough Lions Club recently held its first annual Rubber Duck Derby at the Mill Pond Spillway in Westborough. Due to the pandemic, it was an all-virtual event with online duck sales and the race broadcast on Facebook Live. The club held the race to raise funds for a $1,000 scholarship for a graduating senior at Westborough High School this June. A total of 341 ducks were adopted by the public and raced down the Spillway to the finish line. It was a contested race as the lead changed several times, with the winning duck, #2000, adopted by Greg Conlan, taking the lead in the last few seconds of the race. As the adopter of the first-place finisher, Conlan netted 50% of the proceeds with a check for $1,310.70. ....
