NEW YORK, N.Y. â€“ Persistent Systems, LLC (“Persistent”) , a leader in mobile ad hoc networking (MANET) technology, announced today that its MPU5 handheld device and Rugged Display and Controller (RDC) were successfully used in conjunction with Autonodyne’s RCU-1000 Common Control Station software, which allows a single user to control one or more dissimilar unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
In November 2020, engineers from Autonodyne, a Boston-based AI engineering firm, installed their RCU-1000 Android™-based UAS control software on Persistent’s MPU5 tactical networking device. The MPU5 provided the datalink to the primary UAS and the Android computer to run Autonodyne’s software. The RDC was the user interface (touch screen, joysticks, buttons) to control the flight of an American-made UAS over a field in Massachusetts. ....

New Drone Surveillance System to be Deployed on Canadian Coast Guard Vessels in Trials Funded by DRDC - sUAS News

Ottawa, CA: Kongsberg Geospatial announced today that it has been selected by Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) to conduct trials of a new long-endurance UAV surveillance system for the Canadian Coast Guard. The MartinUAV V-BAT aircraft was selected to provide the unique ability to combine take off and landing from the small confines aboard ship with the long endurance of a fixed-wing aircraft while carrying multiple sensors.
Combining a unique Vertical Take-off aircraft and new sensor data PED solution allows for rapid collection and analysis of sensor data
The aircraft will communicate with the Kongsberg Geospatial sensor data management system, called MIDAS, which allows a range of sensor data, including full-motion video from unmanned systems to be processed and exploited in near real-time by analysts on board Canadian Coast Guard ships.
