The Fort Frances council will have its final meeting of the month tonight. During the meeting, council will decide on whether to approve the tenting bylaw. The report of the amendments to the tenting bylaw were approved during the last council meeting. If council approves the bylaw, it will be in effect starting in May when tents could be erected on residential properties in Fort Frances. Under the approved report, if a resident wishes to have more than one tent on their property from May until September, they should file an application to the municipal planner. Council will also look at a request submitted from Energy Fitness to waive $1,060 in property tax late fees. In her letter, Jackie Lampi-Hughes, owner of Energy Fitness says she has paid $304,000 in taxes since opening her business, but is not sure her business will survive the pandemic because of ongoing closures and the limited number of individuals allowed indoors. ....
