A warm spring night got even hotter at the Whoopee Club. After a four-year hiatus, the celebration of immersive art, live jazz, and connection returned at the Convent in Hamtramck on Saturday night. Sponsored by the Schvitz Health Club, the sold-out crowd in attendance saw live music from crooner Charlie Champagne and the Whoopee Cushions with burlesque by Roxi D’Lite and a special performance by contortionist Tink. ....
The 24th annual Dirty Show kicked off on Friday night at Detroit’s Russell Industrial Center. The Valentine’s Day tradition saw erotic art in all forms, from photography, video, mixed media, paintings, and burlesque. Thousands attended the opening night which saw performances from P. No Noire, Roxi D’lite, Mila La Machina, Faggedy Randy, Miss Holly Hock, Shimmy LaRoux, King Molasses, and many many more. Presented by The Keyhole Club, the preshow to The Dirty Show featured a bevy of amazing burlesque acts for the audience to enjoy, with one set at 7 p.m. and one at 10 p.m. This year's performers were Roxi D'Lite, Damn!, Margaux Royale, Fearless Amaretto, Ms. Holly Hock, Leena Allure, Sophia Von Stardust, Lottie Ellington, Ada Vice, Josephine Shaker, Mila la Machina, and Kitty and Eris.
