CARES funds to help Wyoming families with child care expenses exhausted

CASPER, Wyo. The Wyoming Department of Family Services (DFS) was allocated $1.5 million in CARES Act funds to help provide relief to families that experienced increased health care costs due to the COVID pandemic.
While the deadline to apply for the program had been set for Dec. 15, the Wyoming DFS said on Thursday that funds have been exhausted.
“As of now, all available funds have been expended and the program is closed,” the Wyoming DFS said.

The funding became available Oct. 1. Relief had been available to people who experienced “an increase in child care expenses as a result of the COVID-19 child care/school closures” while the program was open. ....
