In a fitting result, it was drivers from the host club of Rotorua who completed the feat. The event, also known as the Tubby Norriss Memorial, had 39 local boys and girls aged 12-16 as part of the 137-strong entry list. ....
Jordan Dare nearly rolled Auckland Allstars. Speedway: The Panthers’ demise in their semifinal of the Teams’ Champs on Sunday night was in no small way thanks to two Palmerston North drivers. A long 35 years of failure is over for the Rotorua Rebels who brilliantly won the 2021 Teams’ Champs against the Canterbury Glen Eagles in front of the sold out crowd. The Rebels last won the title in 1986 having made a losing finals appearance in 2002. The Panthers were thumped by a well-organised Glen Eagles. It was a brilliant blocking drive from Jayden Ward and a winning drive from Darrel Wallace, both from Palmerston North, that paved the way to the Glen Eagles’ semifinal win at the Robertson Holden Speedway. ....
