Rotorua Christmas Parade attendees soaked up festive atmosphere 20 Dec, 2020 06:12 AM 3 minutes to read Rotorua s community came together to celebrate the festive season during the annual Christmas Parade in the town centre on Sunday. The annual Christmas event nearly did not happen this year due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic but thanks to an anonymous donor the parade was able to go ahead. The parade is run by a charitable trust which relies on donations and sponsorship. Event director and organiser Alia Branson said she was completely blown away by what everyone was able to achieve in such a short space of time.

Tomorrow there will be plenty to get stuck into at the Christmas Festival in Jean Batten Square, located between Rotorua Library and the Rotorua i-SITE and Visitor Centre. As well as visiting Santa s Wonderland there is a wide range of free activities for kids to enjoy, including stilt walkers, giant bubbles, Christmas plaster painting, crafts, balloon and drumming workshops, crafts and face painting.
