The Queensland Firebirds are rated among the genuine improvers in the 2021 Super Netball season.
Melbourne skipper Kate Moloney isn t expecting too much change at the top of the 2021 Super Netball ladder, but tips Queensland as the competition s surprise packet.
The new season kicks off on Saturday with a grand final rematch, with Moloney s champion Vixens hosting West Coast Fever.
Players and fans alike are banking on borders staying open after all but a handful of games were played in a condensed season in Queensland. ....

The new season of Super Netball is less than a week away and it is shaping up as the closest one yet, with a number of teams clearly in the mix.
I will try and break it down for you, looking at the key storylines, the teams and most importantly where they will rank at the end of the season.
Back to normal home-and-away
COVID played havoc with an abridged season last year, with all teams based in Queensland. We are swinging back into a home-and-away season this year, with the NSW Swifts and GWS Giants set to christen their new home at Ken Rosewall Arena. It adds another layer of difficulty for the West Coast Fever, who will have the heaviest travel schedule in the competition. ....

CEO reveals shock interview moment that landed her the job


 
It was November 2014 and she was being interviewed to become Netball Queensland s chief executive officer. She knew what she was doing was risky.
But Clark, 43, doesn t operate by playing it safe.
She d held CEO roles previously - including the former CEO of Gymnastics New Zealand and Gymnastics Australia - but this time was different.
She was now a new mum, with son Magnus 12 months old at the time.
I declared in my job interview that my No. 1 priority was being a mum and if you appoint me to this position I will be leaving at 4pm every day to pick up my son, says Clark, who grew up in Redcliffe and Burpengary, north of Brisbane, and attended Caboolture State High and Delaney s Creek State School. ....
