Instead, the Spartans waltzed their way to a perfect season, a feat they capped with a three-set win over Shenendehowa in the Suburban Council championship Friday night. The Spartans (20-0) dismissed the Plainsmen 25-13, 25-20, 25-12 with Suburban Council MVP Carlie Rzeszotarski serving for the championship point after scoring the winning point with an overhead slam at the net in the match’s second game. ....

On Thursday, both the Shen and Burnt Hills girls volleyball teams swept their semifinal matchups, advancing to the final round which is set for Friday. It means a lot to get an opportunity to play for a championship, said Burnt Hills Claire Isaksen. We ve worked really hard this season. We didn t know if we d even be able to play and now we re in the championship, which is kind of crazy. It s crazy that we get an opportunity to even play Shen in a championship. ....

Talty, Macken continue family success with Shenendehowa volleyball team | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS Shares2 CLIFTON PARK When Rose Talty was younger she would dream of being in the big volleyball match and helping Shenendehowa win like her older sister Mary Talty did so many times. Tuesday was one of those matches, and there was Rose Talty, on the serving line just before the Plainsmen finally put Schenectady away in a quarterfinal match of the Suburban Council tournament. “I saw my sister do that, and I couldn’t wait to be in those games,” said Talty, whose sister played a key hitting role as a senior on Shenendehowa’s 2017 state Class AA runner-up team. “You see others do it, and you want your chance to play at that high level. It’s a goal.” ....
