Rose water, rose mint simple syrup, candied rose petals in there. of course served in a sterling cup that is gold plated as well with a gold-plated sipping straw. now i know why it is $1,000. it goes to charity. it benefits old friends retirement home for thorough bred horses. it s a nice thing and you get a nice commemorative cup. if i can t afford that one when i m having my party, there has to be another version. especially if you have a lot of people over. you don t want to spend $1,000. this is an easy way to make one at home. start with a mint simple syrup, one part water, one part sugar in a sauce pan. stir it. let it come to a boil and take it off the heat and put in one part fresh mint. sprigs and all. everything in there and let it steep like a tea for 20 minutes and then you have a wonderful mint simple syrup. and chill it. for mint julep at home, boom, about two ounces of bourbon goes ....
