Oscar-nominated in 2017 for his insightful documentary on James Baldwin, I Am Not Your Negro, filmmaker Raoul Peck returns with this four-part, partly-dramatised series examining the history of European colonialism and its brutal legacy. Josh Hartnett stars in the scripted scenes, while archive footage and expert testimony build an unflinching narrative of genocide and exploitation, beginning tonight with the colonising of indigenous American land.

Easter from King’s

The yearly celebration of Easter from the University of Cambridge’s King’s College Chapel returns for a lockdown, socially distanced edition, featuring the world-famous choir’s renditions of seasonal music including Ubi Caritas, God So Loved the World, When I Survey the Wondrous Cross and This Joyful Eastertide, directed by Daniel Hyde. Members of the college also provide readings from the King James Bible on Jesus’s death and resurrection. A tonic to see in the start of the bank holiday weekend.
