What the Sixers need to do this offseason is: improve the starting five and tailor them for Embiid s game, beef up the bench, add lots of deadly 3 point shooters and cut salary.
Ideally, the other 4 starters should all be high percentage 3 point shooters that shoot for high volume. This would often prevent defenders from leaving their man to double Embiid. At least, they would be very reluctant to do so and they would be punished when they did double. At the moment, the Sixers only have three high efficiency 3 point shooters and Ben among the starters. One shoots for a high volume but has nothing else to his offensive game. One shoots at a low volume but brings a lot of other offense to the table. The remaining starter shoots the 3 at an extremely high percentage but is reluctant to shoot. His whole career he has been a moderate volume shooter. This is ....
