Dayan for reconsideration of the decision to proceed with the illegal drug trade case against them. âThe Court stands with its Omnibus Order that accused De Lima and Dayan must present their evidence to prove their innocence of the crime charged,â reads the latest ruling from the Regional Trial Court Branch 205 relating to Criminal Case No. 17-165. It further said that it is the discretion of the court to summarize the facts of the case after reading all the records, and that âit does not deprive accused De Lima the opportunity to exculpate herself if she can convincingly refute this Courtâs initial findings.â ....

Duterte’s staunchest critics has asked a Muntinlupa court to dismiss drug trafficking charges against her after prosecutors allegedly failed to present evidence of her guilt. In a 70-page motion for reconsideration, Senator Leila M. de Lima and her co-accused Ronnie P. Dayan said the court had failed to present all the facts that would have contradicted the charges. She said prosecutors had failed to produce one credible witness against her. “Having failed to do so, the honorable court cannot be complicit in this gross miscarriage of justice by supplementing the absence of evidence with suppositions and hearsay statements,” she said. ....
