Win the presidency without the popular vote. but otherwise, it s really hard to imagine a scenario whereby you could win re-election at whatever percentage he s at. think about it, who s going to do a solid for him and throw themselves out there as a third party candidate when he is famous for throwing people under the bus, and wanting all kinds of loyalty and disregarding it. so i think the likelihood of some hand picked candidate to help him is never going to come to fruition. the more likely thing is you ll see an actual challenger, a republican challenger who shows up on the scene. i think this is a very real thing that the white house is also somewhat insecure about, given the statements and the tweets over the last couple of days. and that s partly because i think that s a real risk here that even the people kind of in the middle, those romney voters who were always waffling throughout the entire election, who sided with trump toward the very end, one of the big
60-plus-percent in every vote. what s their gamble here and what s the chance it pays off? the big gamble in this district is the education gap, the education divide. there are a lot of college-educated voters in this district, far more than in any of the other special elections we ve seen so far this year. and that s the biggest source of hope. because these are the people, these are the romney voters that 19% or so that didn t go for trump that maybe sat out in the last election or some of them converted over to hillary clinton. these are the people who are the most likely to secure a district like this for democrats. on the other hand, trump has been surprisingly he s been surprisingly resilient among republicans. many of them still give him marks in the high 80s. and so it s really unclear why they are not they can get republicans to go from annoyance or distaste to i m actually going to vote for the democrat in this election. actually in a midterm where the pool of voters th
Competitive race, 85% or more of the obama voters voted democratic, 85% of the romney voters voted republican. that so problematic for republicans, because they re defending so many seats where trump is struggling the most, including wisconsin, illinois, new hampshire, pennsylvania, north carolina to a lesser extent. what that means, if the correlation holds, to the level we saw in 2012, it will be very hard for the republican senate nominees to get enough split ticket voting to overcome the hole that donald trump is facing, particularly the first four states, which are the most blue on the list. rebecca, there s a new ad in new hampshire for kelly ayotte. i want to play a little clip to it. america s future is far from certain. but no matter who the next president is, new hampshire needs a strong voice in the u.s.
