hit with it and the lily leadbetter act. the student debt thing is revealing in that romney first embraces the paul ryan budget and then yesterday you see him walk it back, that part of it, and say no, i support extending low interest rates. that crystallizes for the obama team their sort of message challenge. the one option is to paint him somebody who you can t trust who s here and there. probably the preferable option is to paint him as the extremist. the a flip-flopper says well, maybe he s more like a moderate. maybe he s a little more reasonable than he s been having to sell himself. ha. i think that shows how they re going to be very aware of that because it s more in their interests for him to be seen as a flip-flopper than if he s a severely i flip, i flop. the white house is sort of honing that strategy. we ve had word in the last couple weeks they re trying to paint him as severely conservative, but mitt romney can t help flipping or flopping.
romney. this is less about anything other than not happy with mitt romney s rhetoric on immigration. he still isn t. does this start haley barber or mitch daniels. i helped you swallow that. immigration isn t like you know, when romney first he is married to a mexican-american. when romney first ran for president, there were a lot of bush people in florida who admitted that jeb was fired up about mitt romney. and liked the idea after hands-on governor. he watched him go through the campaign, go to the right on ma immigration. use it as a wedge against mccain. he didn t like it. didn t like it again. he has even been critical of the tone and rhetoric used on the issue of immigration. i think this endorsement is bowing to reality of the situation. when you know all of that backdrop, and you read the statement, i think it is kind ever telling. it is interesting he married
bill: bob cusack from the hill , joins us out of washington. good morning to you. good morning, bill. bill: talk about romney first. what dawes the day or map look like for him? the map looks pretty good for romney because going in he had built-in advantages, massachusetts, vermont and virginia and i also think idaho. i think he is heavily favored in those states. he has those states in his pocket. if he can win ohio, whether some of these other states, whether it be alaska, he has the potential to win six, seven, possibly eight states that would be a big night. if he can win those and ohio that he has got it. bill: that would be a major headline for him and his team. what about rick santorum? where does it appear he has the best opportunity here? best opportunity, tennessee, oklahoma and that s why he has got to win ohio. his whole argument against romney he can win the battleground states. if he wins and pick off one
